0. Print on 24 or 20 pound paper. Lighter-weight paper would crease better but coloring might go through the page. Heavier paper will feel less like a mini book because the paper will be harder to fold, won’t be as flat in zine-form, and the paper edges will be kind of offset. Let me know what paper(s) you try!
1. Fold and unfold the paper to make creases that divide the paper into eighths.
2. Fold the paper in half along the short axis and cut halfway through across that fold, using the long axis crease as a guide. Example, after cutting and unfolding:
3. Now fold along the long axis and push/pull/fold “pages” in and out to make a little book:
