My sister and I and my aunt and our kids have been taking care of my dad and stepmom’s dogs while they are back-and-forth from Florida. (We have family down there, including my youngest niece, my sister-in-law, brother — my folks are helping out with the granddaughter and some business stuff.)
One great thing about this dogsitting is that my folks have a porch. It is a great place to be at any of time of day. They have an old wooden lounge chair with some flattish cushions and blankets on it, and one of their dogs loves to curl up on it.
I love to sit in the nearby rocking chair and just rest my mind from the hurley-burley that is the world right now–watch the dogs, the birds at the birdfeeders, the bumblebees on the rall purple spiky flowers, and have a coffee.
Peace.
Ink on white paper, but of course the lighting is the lighting.
