Dear hearts,

I am going to try keeping this patreon thing on billing-pause until I catch up, and then consider what I want to do with this next.

Largely this is due to a year of Rather Much. In consequence, I’ve fallen behind again. (And somewhat too frequently felt unskilled and uncreative, although I know sheer stubborn practice will solve that, if I can clear the way!) I may still continue to post sketches (as I’ve been doing this year), but I think it’s better for everybody if I formally stop adding to the backlog.

The image — IF I can get this to upload in the header — it’s failed several times now — is of a postcard I made for a class called binoculars to binomials. The course is sort of an introduction to data visualization through the use of cool birding data and (importantly!) actually going birding. I’m already behind in that too* but I’m liking it.

* one reason I am slightly behind on birding is that in the last week or so I found five ticks on me on four different days, and then it (finally! Hooray!) rained for a few days. You can understand my reluctance! Art is less easily explained. Maybe I should draw the ticks.
