[** Update: downloads are archived after two months—or more—so patrons have plenty of time to access them. Sometimes it’s much longer! I removed these over a year after posting… I’m make the post public when I archive the downloads, so more of you can see the idea and the process. Feedback welcome! —Kir, November 2020 **]
Well then.
1 – Life has had some ups and downs. Everything related to you people is up, except art from me, because I have been both busy (useful) and ashamed (because I fell behind). I’ll talk about that in a another post shortly. Please please in the meantime accept my apologies for being late with this image.
2 – I keep finding I have more to learn about the process from scan to download. Hrm. Maybe it’s mostly about seeing room to learn (and a need to give more time to) the Clean Up the Image Time Before Vectorizing step. (April’s downloaded is better, and May’s even more so, but neither is where I want them to be yet.) Maybe there’s a nice way to leave it all rastered and save the time? But I don’t know it. Yet? Curious.
3 – I have March and April and May images ready to post. Um. Er. If you are seeing this, you are seeing the March one!
4 – Mystery Mail patron(s), I am both rich in ideas and stuck on some! But mostly I need to scan some things and apply them to things. A thing. Or a different thing. Unless I get distracted by an original thing, inspired by a bird or two. Or the other “what are you thinking, that’s a long project!” thing. (And THAT is why I like Patreon.)
5 – About these dragons. I drew this rather a longish while ago, and meant all along to make it a coloring thing. You will not be surprised to read that a) I wanted to make a coloring book, and b) got busy enough that the priority of that has not yet been able to rise! I colored it too, and really do not (still!) like the colored version I made. I’m not even sure where the original is! I am sure I will like yours better.
Suggested, tips, tricks, topics, and terrible puns welcome!
Still enjoying how turning illustrations into things for you all lets me make progress on a bigger project. And how wanting to make good things for you helps me make new illustrations and practice skills.
