Teeny Tiny Spice Company (http:\/\/www.teenytinyspice.com\/)<\/a> sells their YUMMY spice and herb blends in these lovely re-useable tins.* Turns out you can clean off the labels, paint “watercolor ground” on the tin, and paint something! (I’m sure you can do more than just this, of course.)<\/p>\n

I had a great time trying this out! I had help from other artists who gave me how-to suggestions (and next time I’ll also try a primer layer under the ground to see if that changes the texture). I used one of my own photos for reference and then just played around \u2014 the paint was all sorts of well-behaved as I layered it on. I sealed it with a thin layer of a gloss clear coat.<\/p>\n

As always, THANK YOU <\/em>to the Mystery Mail patron for giving me an excuse to try new things. This was a July-and-August combination item, because of my life and this taking a little longer than some other things.\u00a0<\/p>\n
