Mom finds my sketches \u201ca little weird\u201c. One would suspect she\u2019s never browsed the internet! But I know she has. She also finds Mary Engelbreit\u2019s works totally wonderful\u2026 and<\/em> loves Engeldark too. So your guess is as good as mine why she thinks my stuff is just a little too something for her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the other hand, she filled my childhood with Mary Engelbreit, Garth Williams, Trina Schart Hyman, Maurice Sendak, Tasha Tudor, Ernest H. Shephard. (She\u2019d\u2019ve included Jill Barklem too but I was mostly grown by then.) So I have no<\/em> complaints!<\/p>\n
