…before Sketchfest. And you probably already saw it. But hey. Even small rodents can have obsessions. Perhaps this one is working towards a Big Year!
Graphite on smooth piccadilly paper, about 4″ x 7 ” (I didn’t measure it).
I actually scanned this and tweaked it a bit but it was the GodAwful Scanner Of Doom, so …
Insanely optimistic as well, I put it on Stuff at metasilk prints plus at deviantArt, at metasilk at RedBubble, Critters with Gear Zazzle, and Critters with Gear CafePress. Not society6, though, I guess because I am thinking that’s for watercolors. (Like redbuble is sketches maybe with a touch of color.)
If you notice something looks odd on one of those items, do please tell me so I can fix it! It’s entirely likely…
Ink and watercolor pencil on cheap watercolor paper. I digitally darkened him down a bit. Questions:
* Should I apply water to the colored pencil? It tends to smooth and saturate the coors (good) but I have a heck of a lot of blending of colors (and two brands of watercolor pencil, Staedler & Faber-Castell).
* What background? Cut him out and make a collage on some abstract-but-with-perspective print pattern? Figure out how to put in a snowy village? Help!
* Should there be a trail of presents? Where and how to lay those out?
Done more or less for Sketchfest and might become one of our holiday cards.
Another birthday illustration that never made it to the birthday…
Watercolors and ink on sketch paper — the thing about it is I keep working on paper that’s too small. It’s not that I intend that the illustration be too big for the paper, see, it just keeps happening.
I’ve gotta sketch in the sketchbook and move to using the projector or something. It’s was more fun painting on heavier paper (bristol or cold press are working for me these days).
Anyway, I like stuff about this, and am not so impressed with other stuff, and maybe this’ll be the root for something better someday. I have this idea, see, and a projector, and it’s already sketched out, but if it were bigger I could do this other stuff, see…
